A gift, from the moment it arrives...
Your order will arrive wrapped in our signature eucalyptus tissue paper and sealed with a Shelter & Shadows Design sticker — no plain brown parcels here. We want the moment it lands on your doorstep to feel special, because the creatures on these pieces deserve nothing less.
Inside you'll find your item nestled carefully, along with one of our seed paper thank you cards — printed on paper embedded with wildflower seeds, so even the packaging can find a second life in your garden.

Plastic-free, wherever we possibly can
We've been thoughtful about every element of how your order is packed and posted. Nothing in our packaging is chosen by chance.
- Tissue paper printed with our eucalyptus design — soft, recyclable, and far too pretty to throw away
- Cardboard boxes and postal tubes for larger or more delicate items — sturdy, recyclable, no plastic padding
- Kraft paper packing tape in place of plastic tape wherever possible
- Seed paper business and thank you cards — plant them in a pot or border and watch something grow
- No unnecessary fillers, no single-use plastics, no bubble wrap
We're not perfect — some items may occasionally require a small amount of protective wrapping to arrive safely — but we're always working to find kinder alternatives. The natural world inspires everything we make; the least we can do is try not to harm it.

Tucked inside every order you'll find one of our seed paper cards — a small square printed with our Shelter & Shadows Design artwork and a quiet thank you from us to you.
But unlike most packaging inserts, this one has a life beyond the letterbox.
The card itself is made from paper embedded with wildflower seeds. When you're done reading it, don't bin it — plant it. Tear it into pieces, press it into a little compost, keep it watered, and within a few weeks you'll have something growing. Wildflowers that bees and butterflies will thank you for. A small patch of colour that started as a thank you note.
We chose seed paper deliberately. The animals on our designs — the foxes, the hedgehogs, the cats who live outside — all depend on the kind of spaces that wildflowers help to create. Every garden corner sown with a seed card is a tiny act of habitat.
So keep it, plant it, or pass it on. We just ask that you don't throw it away.

Every single order is packaged as standard to look and feel like a proper gift — there's no need to request gift wrapping or pay extra for it. The tissue, the seal, the seed card: it's all part of how we do things here.
If you're sending directly to someone else, simply enter their address at checkout. We don't include any pricing information inside the parcel, so it's ready to give exactly as it arrives.

The price you see is the price you pay.
Postage is included in every product price — always. There are no surprises at checkout, no delivery fees added at the last moment. What you see on the listing is the total cost to have your order made by hand, beautifully wrapped and delivered to your door. We think that's how it should be.
